White Willow (Salix alba L.) is a plant from the Salicaceae family.
Willow supports joint function and counteracts localized tension states.
Willow is a plant with anti-inflammatory, analgesic, and antipyretic properties. These activities are attributable to its content of salicin which, once ingested and following intestinal and hepatic metabolism, is converted into salicylic acid.
Salicylic acid exerts its analgesic, anti-inflammatory, and antipyretic activities by inhibiting the cyclooxygenase enzyme, the enzyme responsible for converting arachidonic acid into prostaglandins that cause inflammation, fever, and pain.
Thanks to these properties, White Willow is useful for joint pain, headache, cold.
