RED VINE
Red vine or Vitis vinifera, known as Common Vine, belongs to the Vitaceae family.
The leaves have medicinal properties for the cardiovascular system; they in fact contain some polyphenolic derivatives, such as proanthocyanidins, flavonoid glucosides, which with their activity, defined as vitamin P, have a tonic action on venous walls, and are indicated in all forms of varicose veins, phlebitis, hemorrhoids.
Modern controlled clinical trials have demonstrated the efficacy of phenolic compounds in patients with peripheral vascular disorders, such as heaviness, edema, pain in the lower limbs, which showed a significant reduction.
A reduction was also recorded in the time needed to perform peripheral venous drainage, especially in patients with chronic venous insufficiency.
